With Dawntrail's release, Final Fantasy 14 gained 13 new mounts to unlock. Ranging from fluffy and adorable to sleek and cool, these mounts will pique the interest of any avid collector. The requirements to gain each one are different, but players will be completing some of the hardest content currently available and setting out on a grueling grind.

Like with all other mounts in Final Fantasy 14, you'll spend some time completing a wide variety of activities to get them all, but don't let this deter you. While you're out working on your mounts, maybe spend some time tracking down all the Aether Currents in Shaaloani or trying out a new job. However you choose to explore, it'll take dedication to grab every new mount in the game.

From PvP to MSQs, you'll need to play all kinds of content to get each mount. Some you'll get automatically as you play, but others require grinding. The easiest to get is the one given to you as an MSQ reward: the Alpaca. After completing MSQ 100, "Dawntrail," you'll be given the Alpaca Mount. This cute and furry friend doesn't have much going on but will be a good companion as you continue your quest.

The other "easy" to acquire mounts actually come from external sources. Mountain Zu is a huge, green bird that could be redeemed on the official Mountain Dew website using Digicodes found with the purchase of Mountain Dew. However, the collaboration ended on January 5th. Another code-redemption mount is the Ark, which is a large mecha mount. To get the code for The Ark, you only need to purchase Dawntrail's Collector's Edition.

All Purchaseable Mounts In Dawntrail

These Mounts Can Only Be Bought

A few mounts will require a grind for Gil or another resource. Here is each one and what it costs:

Mount

Cost

Location

Air Wheeler A9

7.5M Gil

Solution 9, or Market Board

Rroneek

100 Rroneek Horn Tokens from Orange Gatherer's Scrips

Splendor's Vendor at Solution 9 or Market Board

The Air-Wheeler A9 is the simplest of the two, as all you'll need to do is gather the requisite amount of Gil and then make your big purchase. If you're looking for ways to get more Gil, worry not. As you complete MSQs, you'll gather enough currency to get the Air-Wheeler quickly.

The Rroneek is one of the worst mounts compared to the others in FF14: Dawntrail, but that shouldn't discourage you from getting it. You'll need to get 100,000 Orange Gatherer's Scrips and turn them into Rroneek Horn Tokens, which will take some time. Check out Meoni's video from YouTube above for some grinding strategies.

If you don't feel like grinding out either mount, you can purchase them or the resources they require from the Market Board.

How To Earn Mounts As Activity Rewards

A Bit of Grind, A Bit of Skill, and A Lot of Dedication

Five of the 13 mounts introduced in Dawntrail require you to play an activity to acquire them. Two of them, the Wings of Resolve and Wings of Ruin, both drop as completion rewards, while the other three require you to complete specific activities to gain the currency needed to buy the mounts. Here is each one:

Mount

Activity Requirement

Cost and Vendor

Automatoise

Dawnhunts

3,200 nuts, Dawn Hunt Vendor in Tuliyollal

Mewhapyarra

"The Serpentlord Seethes" FATE completion

12 Ttokrrone Scales, Uah'shepya in Solution 9

Ty'aitya

FATE Completion

500 Turali Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers

Wings of Resolve

Worqor Lar Dar (Extreme) Trial

Drops from Trial or purchasable for 99 Skyruin Totems at Uah'shepya

Wings of Ruin

Everkeep (Extreme) Trial

Drops from Trial, or purchasable for 99 Resilient Totems at Uah'shepya

The Automatoise, Mewhapyarra, and Ty'aitya require simple activity completion to gain their respective currency. Each one will require repeated completion, so get ready for a grind. Thankfully, FATEs reward more than just that specific currency, so you can pad your pockets as you play.

The Wings of Resolve and Ruin are a bit trickier to get, particularly due to the Extreme Trials' difficulty. These encounters are more difficult than the typical dungeon boss, with one uber-strong boss enemy alongside bunches of adds.

You can complete these trials through Party Finder or matchmaking, but matchmaking will likely be more difficult. If you're struggling with the Valigarmanda EX fight at Warqar Lar Dar, refer to Mrhappy1227's video on YouTube. No matter how you finish these trials, you'll have to keep running them until the mounts drop or you get enough Totems to purchase them.

These Mounts Need To Be EarnedFF14: Dawntrail - How To Get Every Mount (3)

The quirky TV-looking Outrunner is one of two mounts rewarded upon completing an achievement. To achieve "A Life of Adventure VI," you must gain level 100 on every battle job. This is quite a grind but can be done relatively passively. Switch up your Job as you play and do other things, like doing FF14's Alexander Raids.

The second achievement mount is Ullr, which can be rewarded for the achievements "Dawn of a New A Game III" and "Dawn of a New S Game III." These achievements require slaying 2,000 A-Rank and 2,000 S-Rank targets in the Dawntrail regions, respectively, so they'll also take some work.

As you travel through the new regions, watch for any A- or S-rank enemies to add to your tally. If you don't mind the grind, this can be done all in one sitting, but it's way more realistic to do this passively as you complete other tasks.

Finally, the last mount introduced in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail is the Oppressor. This large mecha mount is the reward for reaching level 25 in PvP series 6. This should happen naturally as you complete PvP, but if you're not a fan of the mode, this one will feel like a slog. If you're unsure where to start, try equipping a reliable PvP build in Final Fantasy 14. You can grab the last mount quickly with the right build and some practice.
